AcademicWorks Winter Release: Increasing Flexibility with Client-Defined Roles

Every college, university, and foundation operates differently and we understand that. This is why AcademicWorks continues to create flexible functionality for a variety of use cases.

With our first release of 2016, we have added flexibility in the way users are assigned permissions within AcademicWorks. This gives you greater flexibility in controlling which users can change details and settings of scholarships, and which users can see sensitive information without disrupting the operations of your scholarship process.

Some examples of how AcademicWorks users are already taking advantage of this enhanced functionality include:

  • Allowing users to edit scholarship fund details without access to scholarship applications which contain sensitive student data.
  • Providing access to applications, reviews, and communications to applicants without the ability to edit scholarship fund details.
  • Creating a view-only role to see important information without the ability to edit for executive level users or student workers.
We have also added in an IT Administrator role because integrations are such a vital piece to the AcademicWorks Platform. This role will allow these users to access what they need to assist with imports and exports as well as system
configurations, without having access to sensitive student information.

We have a lot more to look forward to throughout the next year.  A huge shout-out to our clients who continue to provide great ideas and feedback about the product.  Without you, we would not be able to continue to deliver impactful functionality as part of the AcademicWorks Platform.
